Women Build 2012
Construction
starts Sat. Feb. 25, 2012
Habitat
for Humanity of Horry County will kick off its first build in
2012 with an exciting project and we want every woman in Horry
County and beyond to be a part of it. The house we will be
building is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath house. For that house we still
need to gather materials, contractors and volunteers. In-kind
donations help us keep our building costs lower, enabling
Habitat to build more houses each year.
The 2012
Women Build will celebrate this project with a Beginning
Blessing on Saturday, February 18th at 11:30 am on
the building site located on Suggs Street in Conway.
If you would like more information about donating or participating please contact
Herdie Mathews or call
(843) 650-8815 ext. 8004! ****** Women Build is a volunteer program
specifically designed for women who wish to learn construction
skills while building homes for low-income families. No
experience is necessary. Trained crew leaders will be available
at the construction site to supervise each step of the process
so there is no worry if you have no construction skills. If you
have little or no interest in construction then you can always
help with administrative work behind the scenes. The purpose
of the Women Build is to empower women to take action against
poverty. With that being said, men do assist on the construction
site as needed to fill volunteer gaps and function as trained crew leaders when needed. Women Build Donor
